08.05 – Ensenada
It was good to get in to Ensenada when we did because it has been blowing and raining heavily much of the time we have been here and it would not have been nice to be out on the water in this weather. On the other hand we have spent the time here very well and yesterday we had a very nice trip to Mexicali. Maren was exchange student in Mexicali about 20 years ago and meeting Eleuterio, Carmen, Karina, Rakel and Oliver again was a great experience! It was a lot of “catching up” to do, about what has happened the last 20 years, and we also had a great dinner all of us. After a guided tour around the city we set the nose back towards the coast again.
The road to Mexicali is pretty spectacular going over the San Andrews Fault (San Andrea Forkastningen). On the highest point it was actually snow the day before we were her. We also drove through the Wine wally between Ensenada and Tecate where we probably should have spent some more time?
Maybe we will get our chances again in June. We will go back here and haul out, do the bottom work and preparations before the transpac around the 20. of June. A good thing to have settled that also already. In a couple of hours we are once again turning the bow to north and our next report will be from USA!
Some pictures from the harbour!
